Design Portfolio
As a Communications Manager with the National Council on Family Violence, I currently manage a $250,000 annual print budget, encompassing design and print projects for more than 50 state and national initiatives. In addition to project management and oversight, I have gained extensive hands-on experience supervising and training staff members, as well as developing, managing and maintaining vendor relations, and setting overall communications strategy. I am also the primary web administrator and designer, and have overseen the modernization of the agency’s web presence.
During my tenure, I have learned that, while design is both my hobby and my passion, my professional gifts lie in managing the processes and people to accomplish goals, overcome obstacles and meet deadlines. My attention to detail, eye for design and highly-motivated approach to all projects I undertake—both personally and professionally—have both prepared and equipped me well for future undertakings.
In addition to design, I also do some photography work both professionally and as a hobby. I enjoy any opportunity to get behind a camera, which has an added benefit of being useful for design projects.
