There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs. ~Ansel Adams

Sometime back in the heady days of youth my dad handed me his hefty and classic Nikon F5 as I went out the door for a road trip that eventually spawned the name of this website. There were a lot of settings, a lot of expensive experimentation, and quite a bit of wasted film, but eventually a few semesters later I found myself in one of the last darkroom photography classes taught at Texas A&M. Now days it’s pretty rare to find me without a camera at least nearby.

It’s a weird thing, framing a shot and pulling the trigger. Some luck, some practice, a very tiny bit of skill. These days I shoot digital, not because it’s better, but because it’s easier. There’s more room for trial and error. We all miss the physical quality of the negatives, the substantiation of something accomplished, but the world moves on and so must our trades.

This section of the site comprises a very basic photography portfolio. I’ve shot events, weddings, marches and my various wanderings. The trick is learning to pull the trigger and trust it to fate.
